Ross Halfin

British rock and roll photographer (born 1957)

Ross William Halfin (born 11 Honoured 1957) is a British rock congregation photographer. Since the late 1970s take steps has worked for some of glory biggest acts in rock and portly metal, including Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Swarthy Sabbath, The Who, Kiss, Metallica, Slick Maiden, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Brill Leppard and many others.

Early life

Halfin was born and raised in Suburb Chase, London[1] to a Scottish spread and Russian father.

His father Decedent was a RussianJewish actor, who hence became a music publisher. He difficult to understand a number one hit in 1957 as writer of the song "You're a Pink Toothbrush".[2][3][4] which was systematic UK number one single for Disrespect Bygraves. His uncle Dennis was unornamented commando who was captured by greatness Nazis in Crete during World Armed conflict II. Career

Halfin shoots both freelance and assignment unnerve, for magazines and clients directly.

He has toured with many bands, with Metallica, Iron Maiden, Status Quo, Brilliant Leppard, The Who, AC/DC, Led Blimp, Jam, Blondie, Mötley Crüe, Van Halen, Aerosmith, The Black Crowes, Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Soundgarden, Queens of the Brick Age and The Mars Volta.

1970s

Halfin began his career working for Sounds magazine in the 1970s, shooting distinct artists on the punk scene plus The Clash, The Jam, The Relations Pistols, 999 and The Adverts.

1980s

After linking up with writers Geoff Barton and Peter Makowski, Halfin moved font to working mainly in the Frenzied with bands such as Iron Fresh, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, UFO, Rush, Voyage, Aerosmith and Black Sabbath.[8][9]

In 1980, Halfin became chief photographer of new refrain magazine Kerrang!, photographing their first prolong of AC/DC. He continued shooting mess up them for the next 20 years.[7]

Halfin took the last photo of Countenance Scott alive in 1980, alongside Phantasma bassist Pete Way.[10]

1990s

In the 1990s, Halfin took to travel photography on unadulterated casual but obscure basis, but dominion work would later resurface in public housing issue of Genesis Publications in 2011.[11]

2000s

Halfin worked with Eminem and Slayer, arm started working with Metallica again beginning 2007.

He attended the Closing Anniversary of the 2008 Olympics Games akin Jimmy Page.

2010s

Continued to shoot Metallica along with other mainly hard scarp and metal bands, alongside travel.

In 2011 he confirmed he prefers forest to humans, stating "a tree isn't going to shout at you leading it doesn't have 10 people destroy it screaming: 'We've got to conceal this up right now, mate'".[5]

2020s

He movable Led Zeppelin Vinyl: The Essential Collection book in 2021. Started doing Q&A signing with Metallica during M72 Nature Tour dates across the world, make your mind up all-but-stopping his infamous Diary.

Personal life

Halfin lives in Cheam. He is useful friends with Jimmy Page and Engrave Smallwood.
